many mothers

they have all come into my lives at different times

and helped me grow all in their own way

they molded me and shaped me

and taught me to be humbled as clay

they were there when i needed someone to lean on

and always gave an ear

i was raised by many mothers

with my own never far behind

sometimes i wonder what they would all say to each other

if they commented on my life

have i made them proud

have i lived right

all i know as i think of all the things they have helped me with

all through different years of my life

is that i am blessed to have been raised by many mothers

for they have shaped my life

a consuming fire

it calls after you

you must hear it

can you not see the scars over your skin

your past will always follow you

but do not be afraid

the past is apart of you

and without it

your future will fade

somethings you may want to go away

but they made you who you are

every scar shows your stronger then the one before

and to all those who hurt you

abused and made you feel low

hold a glass and make a toast

they are the reason that you glow

the light that shines from you

is only proof you are a survivor

and remember at the end of your hard days

our God is a consuming fire

silence

step outside

just wander

have no idea where you might be

though you may have taken the path before

this time simply choose to be free

go off of the path and through the trees

find hidden creeks

hear cracking leaves

get lost in the silence that natureĀ interrupts

and let it be as though it has always been

do not just hear the birds as they chirp

listen to what they tell you

they sing the secrets we have all been looking for

but we refuse to hear what is hidden in the silence

the life we are meant to live

does not come to us screaming or with a single shout

it finds us while we are lost

it finds us in the life we tried to live

it tears us out

it saves us and we know it does

time and time again

we beg for silence

but we never let it be

but when you listen to how the silence speaks

the world becomes a lot clearer

for the silence tells us all as we grow old

that everyday the end is nearer

the moment

there is a moment

simply an instant

where you just know

that everything wrong no longer matters

and everything that is right

is right before your eyes

it may be love you are seeing

or possibly just a trick of the light

the secret to remember

is that thinking your in love

even for a moment

is alright

it may not last forever

it might not even last a day

but that moment was perfect

was it not

names are not important

nor where your from or who you are

but the need and the want

the fascination of another human being

a breathtaking moment of bliss

captured in the middle of your every day life

it is not the journeys that tell our story

but the moments

just one moment

Hallelujah

Hallelujah

In a world that screams for peace

Hallelujah

May we raise our hands and sing

For joy and understanding

In a world that seems to need everything

May we remember,

Hallelujah

God is with us

We are not abandoned

Hallelujah

Love will win again

Hallelujah

A revolution we will bring

We will rise again

Like he has risen

And when we fall he will pick us up

And our hallelujah will being with love

the stones

They sit among us

There are ways you can tell

Sometimes in the way that they talk

The way they where their watch

The way they stand tall

There are heroes blending among us

That sometimes we fail to see

The hidden tears they hide

The strength they find

Brothers and sisters they once knew

They visit the stones

How it ever came to that

They were sure to not come home

But home they did come

I suppose it is true

That even those who survive

They too fall

They would give their life for us

But immortality is to no one

We all battle the war of life

Some in a different uniform is all

But no one survives the deployment of life

For the enemy of death consumes us all

hope

There is a melody that plays when the hard days come

There is a comfort in the winds of a storm

A feeling when the rain falls

That when the clouds pass a rainbow will come

When the struggle ends there is a lesson

Some are taught that tears show weakness

It is the strong who remember

Crying since birth is a sign you are alive

The ever present warmth in the hug of a friend

The comfort in mothers home cooked meals

The goosebumps when the men click to attention

It is not a spoken notion

But an unspoken understanding

The knowledge that pain ends

It is what holds us together in times of struggle

hope

fears

What are you afraid to write about?
what is your greatest fear?

The truth about your family

Are you afraid that they will hear?

What about your past

Would you ever write about that?

Are not all secrets meant to be shared?

Ever write about what you did on a dare?

Are you embarrassed

Or are you scared

Write about your broken heart

Write about the person who tore you apart

Am I getting too personal

Is it making you angry

Good

Hold that

Curl your toes

Turn your face

Just do not play it safe

Rules are meant to be broken

Fears are meant to be faced

6 hr wait

6 hr wait was something I was used to

I noticed him across the room

Hands clenched trying to keep face

No uniform

you could just tell

he realized I knew his secret

the boy at the bus stop

staring into space

no amount of smokes

enough to calm his fears

the last time he went over

he lost his mother and brother back home

he could hardly muster enough words to stay awake

a final smoke

a handshake

off on a bus numbered 643

grabbed his pack

he way on his way to keep us free

Finding yourself

walk into a mirrored room,

and take note of the different views,

which one is you?

are you tall and thin?

or short and fat?

is it important to think about any of that?

and if you cannot decide which one you like,

just walk outside,

and feel the warmth of the sky,

and as it begins to rain

feel the drops soak into your skin

breathe in everything you want to be

breathe out what the world wants you to see

for you are not found in reflections of glass

or any reflection of gold silver or brass

you cannot ask Jack or Jill where they found you to be

it is only when you kneel in prayer you can finally believe

for as the verse tends to go

remembered by those young and old

he who finds his life will lose it

but he who loses his life for my sake will find it

so have faith that in our lives

we find ourselves in molded clay

it is only important who we are through his eyes
